Seeding and Sod
Seeding or putting sod down are both good ways to start a new lawn or patch a establish lawn. There are some difference between seeding and putting down sod.
| | With seeding the best time of the year to get good results is to put the seed down late summer and early fall. You can seed in spring, it is just important that you don’t apply a weed killer to your soil. Unlike sod that can be installed year round. In Tennessee the last two weeks of August through September are going to render the best results with seeding. For obvious reasons seeding your lawn is a much more cost effective then sod. More information can be found on at Aeration and Over-Seeding | With sod you can install throughout the year and get great results as long as you water. Sod is cut at a farm and in order to survive you have to water ¼” 3 times a day the first week; then backing down the watering schedule the following weeks.
